It's important for us that you have great trading experiences on Trendsales. Therefore, we have gathered some tips on how to trade safely and what you need to be aware of when trading online.
What can I do to increase my safety when trading online?
Payment before shipping. Do not ship/hand over your item, if you haven't received the agreed payment for the item. Make sure that the money is stated on your bank account, or that the money is handed to you during the meetup with a buyer.
Ship securely. Remember to wrap the item properly with bubble wrap or corrugated paper etc. before shipping it. If you haven't made sure that it is wrapped securely, you might risk being responsible, if the item breaks during shipping. Courier companies can have certain rules in regards to this, so you have to look into this to make sure the wrapping lives up to those standards.
Return address. Always put your return address on the package/letter so it can be returned to the sender, if there are any issue with delivering it to the receiver.
Valid shipping documentation. If you can prove that you have sent the item, you are always entitled to receive the money from the buyer, even if the item has disappeared during shipping. Valid documentation is a track and trace number or a postal certificate ("Indleveringsattest" in Danish).
How do I show that I am a trustworthy seller?
Fill out your profile. Put in your correct information with your full name and a picture of yourself where you face is visible, so that a potential buyer can see that you are willing to show your true identity.
Create accurate and honest ads. Use your own pictures and add sufficient information about your items. If your item has a flaw and/or defect, you are still able to put the item for sale, as long as you remember to mention the real condition of your item in the add description and through pictures.
Be willing to answer questions. Answer questions from interested buyers and send more pictures if needed and asked for. It's a good service to show as a seller and it creates a sense of safety.
Make clear agreements with the buyer. Keep an open line of communication between you and the buyer, until the deal is completed. Keep the buyer updated regularly, e.g. when the payment is received, and when the item has been shipped by showing valid shipping documentation, so the buyer knows for sure that the item is on its way. During the shipping of the item, it's always a good idea to make yourself available to answer any questions that the buyer might have.
